First Aid Training - What?
Our standard First Aid Training courses are:
- First Aid At Work (FAW) – this is the old 4-day First Aid at Work course which is now only 3 days
- First Aid At Work Refresher (2 day) - this is the requalification course for someone holding the FAW certificate and must be taken within 3 years of the FAW course
- Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) (1 day) - (this replaces the old Appointed Person qualification)
- Paediatric First Aid (1 day)
- Paediatric First Aid (2 day) - note that this is the OFSTED approved course - the 1 day course does not meet their requirements
- Appointed Person (2 hours) - this is now solely an administrative role and does not require any First Aid skills
The HSE recommends that holders of the FAW & EFAW certificates attend a 3-hour refresher each year. In many cases (thankfully), your First Aiders may not have had to use their skills since they last qualified and may well have got a little rusty.
Courses do not need to be delivered as one block - for example, the new First Aid at Work course is normally delivered over 3 consecutive days. If this is inconvenient we can split these into smaller chunks, i.e., 3 consecutive Mondays.
We can deliver training in the evening or at weekends if this is more convenient.
